Trip booked on Monday, car packed on Thursday, and we boarded the boat on Friday. The trip to Florida in itself was an adventure. Six hours from Augusta to Port Canaveral and we managed to make it to the DMV for a new license, stop only once for a break, and board just in time to mix a drink and set sail.
Initially exhausted I think the excitement gave us our second wind. We spent Friday dancing the night away. The best part of cruising is that when one dance club closes another one opens. Thank you to the absolutely atrocious band from Canada for playing the best of the best at the Bolero until we somehow managed to continue shaking it at the Circuit Lounge long past the wee hours of the morning.
How does one recover from a six hour dance party? Clearly laying on the beaches of Nassau sipping daiquiris in perfect 80 degree weather is the only obvious answer. Need help picturing it? It looked a little something like this...
The remainder of the weekend consisted of more of the above with a stop in CocoCay. I love cruising and cruisers. Hundreds upon hundreds of folks from all walks of life on one boat pining for the same fun in the sun vacation means people watching of EPIC proportions. A marriage proposal or two AND free entertainment from a crazy drunk girl literally rolling around on the dance floor is just icing on the cake.
You treated us well Royal Caribbean and you can expect to see me back again very soon.
